The first thing we notice about this music magazine is the colour scheme. The bright pinks and purples instantly tell us that it is aimed and young teenage girls, this is also shown through the artist that are featured in the magazine like One Direction and Cher Lloyd. These artist are all in the pop genre therefore linking to the title 'Top of the Pops' which tells us that his magazine is based on the pop genre. The bold pink title stands out and attracts the audience, the colour pink also connotes fun and girly which links to the audience and what is seen to represent young teenage girls. The main image of the pop star Cher Lloyd is placed in the centre of the image illustrating her importance and that she is the main story. Each side story also contains popular pop artist like One direction and JLS. Each of the side stories are placed playfully down the left side of the main image filling the magazine spaces making it look full and interesting. The font is either bold or slim, due to the two different variations of font this makes the magazine seem more interesting it also tells us what stories are more important than others. This magazine also gives away freebies such as posters of a well loved boy band, this will attract young girls as they would want to collect the posters. The magazine contains all the traditional codes and conventions; Title, barcode, main story, side stories, main image, side images and a logo. However the issue date and issue number is either not on it or clearly shown.
