Content page analysis 2

The word 'Contents' is written over three lines creating a fragmented style, giving a cool slick look.  The writing is also in a bold black making it stand out from the simple grey background. The capital 'V' in the background is also consistent throughout Vibe magazines, this gives a sense of continuity throughout Vibe. It also gives it a brand even though it is only the contents page.  The variety of different fonts gives a presented as well as formal look to the magazine making it more interesting and exciting. The  calligraphic style writing for 'features' and 'fashion' tells us that it is one of the main aspects of the contents page. It also gives a classy edge to the magazine, this ties in with the rest of the magazines style. The page numbers are in bold to help readers  see it clearer so they can find the pages they are looking for with less difficulty. As the background is plain this draws attention to the foreground, this being Kanye West. As Vibe is not just a music magazine they need to make sure that each person is dressed fashionable. Kanye West is presented in a smart and stylish way this reflects the confident style of Vibe magazine. As the colour scheme is greyscale this makes the only colour on the page stand out more; this being the heart placed over Kanye's heart. This can make West fans more interested as this could link to Kanye's feelings as the colour red can also connote love. This can tell the audience that the story can be about his personal love life. As the layout is simple it makes it easier for the reader to see the clear and persist information, as it is only a contents page it needs to be clear so the reader knows what to be expected in the rest of the magazine.
